Looking for Board Certified/Board Eligible Emergency Medicine Physicians
Responsibilities
- Diagnose illnesses and prescribe as well as administer treatment for patients
- Examine patients and obtain medical histories
- Order, perform and interpret diagnostic tests
- Counsel patients regarding preventive healthcare, hygiene and diet
- Interview, examine and treat clinical patients
- Provide medical patient care
- Educate patients on wellness, prevention and early detection
- Determine which referrals are required based on examination and patient needs
- Determine level of urgency for follow-up, referral/consultation appointments
- Prescribe medical treatment and clinical drugs
- Order studies, tests and ancillary services
- Document all services in patient medical record
- Review long-term cases that require ongoing medical attention
- Consult with Medical Director and other professionals on staff
- Oversee mid-level medical staff and nursing clinical staff
- Assist in resolving complaints, requests and inquiries from patients
Requirements
- Medical degree and 2 years of direct or intern experience required
- Current Medical License in the state of Michigan
- Current DEA and DPS Certificate of Registration
- Maintain all requirements for medical staff privileges
- Thorough knowledge of pharmacological agents used in patient treatment
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Proper telephone etiquette
- Perform in a tactful and professional manner
Qualifications
- Knowledge of and ability to apply professional medical principles, procedures, and techniques
- Performs in a position that produces high levels of mental/visual fatigue, e.g., interactive and repetitive or small detailed work requiring alertness and concentration for sustained periods of time
- Involves considerable standing or walking, regular lifting of light-weight objects (i.e., 20 pounds or less)
- Minor straining or fatiguing positions must be assumed, and some fatiguing physical motions are required
