Job Description
Community Health Centers of America is hiring a Dermatologist to work in their family practice clinics and contracted long-term care facilities in the Sacramento, CA area. The position involves diagnosing and treating skin, hair, and nail conditions, creating treatment plans, and performing medical and cosmetic procedures.
Responsibilities
- Obtain, analyze, and interpret patients' histories, symptoms, physical findings, or diagnostic information to develop appropriate diagnoses.
- Assess and diagnose patients' skin, hair, and nail conditions and ailments to determine appropriate treatment.
- Recommend diagnostic or therapeutic interventions.
- Prescribe medications.
- Detect and respond to adverse drug reactions.
- Educate patients and families on available treatments and preventative care strategies.
- Order, perform, or interpret the results of diagnostic testing relevant to dermatology.
- Conduct in-office procedures, which can include medical, surgical (e.g., Mohs surgery), and cosmetic treatments (e.g., Botox, lasers).
- Refer patients to specialists as needed.
- Perform follow-up visits to monitor patients or evaluate health or illness care.
- Collaborate with primary care and specialty providers to ensure continuity and coordination of care.
- Provide consultative support to other providers in the clinic and affiliated facilities.
Requirements
- MD or DO from an accredited medical school and completion of residency program.
- Completion of an ABD-accredited Dermatology fellowship.
- Board certified or board eligible in Dermatology.
- Active medical license or eligibility to obtain licensure in California.
- 3-5 years of related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- In-depth knowledge of legal medical guidelines and medicine best practices.
