Physician - Critical Care

About the role

The physician provides high-quality, cost-effective patient care that supports established specialty practice objectives and strategic organizational goals. The physician establishes preventive measures, diagnoses and treats illnesses and disorders competently, consistent with medical practice and protocols. Patient care is delivered in a cost-effective manner, managing and utilizing resources optimally while demonstrating compassion and respect for individuals. The physician collaborates with physician leaders, administration, and staff to improve clinical outcomes, participates in organization-wide quality improvement efforts, and contributes to medical staff committees. The role includes maintaining current technical knowledge, seeking educational and professional development opportunities, and participating in teaching activities and the peer review process to enhance clinical practice.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, cost-effective patient care aligned with specialty practice objectives and organizational goals.
• Establish preventive measures and diagnose/treat illnesses and disorders in accordance with medical protocols.
• Deliver patient care in a cost-effective manner, optimizing resource utilization.
• Collaborate with physician leaders, administration, and staff to improve clinical outcomes.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives organization-wide and contribute to medical staff committees.
• Maintain current technical knowledge and pursue educational/professional development opportunities.
• Engage in teaching activities and the peer review process to enhance clinical practice.
• Demonstrate sound judgment and respect for colleagues in all professional interactions.

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited school of medicine.
• Currently licensed to practice medicine in the State of New Jersey.
• Board Certification within specialty.
• Membership on the staff of Atlantic City Medical Center.
• Unencumbered CDS and DEA registration.
• Proficiency in Clinical Applications preferred at hire; training provided with skill requirement within 30-60 days.

Work Environment

Potential exposure to hazards and risks of the hospital environment, including infectious disease, blood-borne pathogens, hazardous substances, and potential injury. Essential functions are outlined in the Assessment and Evaluation Tool.

This position reports to the Vice President of Medical Affairs, Department Chairman, and/or Medical Director.
