About the role

The Section of Cardiology at the William S. Middleton Memorial Veterans Hospital located in Madison, WI is searching for a Board Eligible/Board Certified Cardiologist to serve on the staff of a very active academic cardiology section with clinical strengths in electrophysiology, interventional cardiology, advanced heart failure/transplant and imaging.

Responsibilities

  • Manage patients on the inpatient ward and outpatient specialty clinics
  • Perform diagnostic cardiac catheterization
  • Provide outreach clinical care at the Rockford CBOC with the possibility of remote work at our local East Clinic and the Tomah VAMC
  • Supervise fellows, residents, and medical students
  • Work closely with colleagues in the UWSMPH Division of Cardiovascular Medicine

Requirements

  • U.S. Citizenship
  • Full and unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States, or in the District of Columbia
  • Completed residency training in an accredited core specialty training program leading to eligibility for board certification
  • Ability to interact with staff, patients, and other services

Qualifications

  • Doctor of Medicine or equivalent degree from an LCME-accredited school
  • Current, full and unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery
  • Completed residency training in an accredited core specialty training program leading to eligibility for board certification
  • Ability to interact with staff, patients, and other services

Skills

  • Performance, supervision, and interpretation of cardiac imaging studies, including nuclear cardiology, transthoracic and transesophageal echocardiography
  • Demonstrated success in clinical research
