Physician, Cardiac Surgery

MemorialCare Medical Group is seeking a qualified Cardiothoracic Surgeon to join MemorialCare Long Beach Medical Center, a large free-standing hospital with an academic affiliation to the University of California Irvine. The center is dedicated to clinical excellence, cutting-edge research, and a robust clinical trial program, training over 500 students, house officers, and fellows. With a 60-year history of cardiac program innovations, the hospital is a Magnet® designated teaching facility featuring three CV operating rooms, one hybrid room, and five cath labs.

Responsibilities

• Perform adult cardiac surgery with a focus on endovascular cardiac surgery, mechanical circulatory support, and/or transcatheter mitral valve procedures.

Practice Details

• Dedicated heart team including cardiac anesthesiologists and TEE certified anesthesiologists.
• Transcatheter experience is preferred.
• Employed position within a strong cardiology program and a network of over 200 primary care providers.
• Large potential cardiology referral base.

Qualifications

• American Board of Surgery certification (or board eligible).
• American Board of Thoracic Surgery certification (or board eligible).
• Aortic surgery experience is a plus.
• Must possess or be eligible for an unrestricted medical license in the state of California.
• DEA registration.
