Responsibilities
- Elicit and record patient medical history using the established electronic medical record software system.
- Order, oversee, and interpret tests, analyses, and diagnostic images.
- Diagnose and prescribe care, treatment, and medications for patient conditions.
- Perform minor outpatient surgeries and procedures.
- Document patient charts in a timely and appropriate manner.
- Adhere to all established quality protocols.
- Refer patients to medical specialists or other practitioners for specialized treatment.
- Advise patients on diet, hygiene, lifestyle modifications, and disease prevention methods.
- Hospitalize and treat patients in local hospitals, if required.
- Supervise clinical components at the site.
- Assist with medical in-service training for staff.
- Provide back-up coverage for other MedLink sites.
- Serve on organization committees and teams.
- Participate in community health promotion projects and increase awareness of MedLink Georgia.
- Attend local medical conferences and meetings.
- Participate in the corporation’s Quality Assurance Program and adhere to all established quality protocols.
- Provide consultation, collaboration, and supervision to supportive clinical personnel.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Thorough knowledge of techniques and skills used in examination, diagnosis, and treatment of physically ill patients.
- Extensive knowledge of recent developments in the field of medicine.
- Ability to perform physical tasks required in patient examination and treatment.
- Ability to establish and maintain satisfactory working relationships with patients, other professionals, and the public.
- Demonstrated interest in preventive medicine and health education.
Qualifications
Physicians: Graduation from an approved school of medicine and internship AND completion of an approved residency program and eligibility for board certification.
Physician Assistant: Graduate of an approved Physician Assistant program AND completion of a preceptorship in primary care.
Nurse Practitioner: Graduate of an approved Nurse Practitioner program AND completion of a preceptorship in primary care.
