Job Functions
- Provides healthcare to patients both in clinic and via tele-medicine according to the established principles of clinical practice and the current organizational plan or need.
- Provides oversight of any Advanced Practice Provider (APP) at the Physician’s clinic location, including providing recommendations on clinical management and treatment plans when the Center Medical director is not on site or available.
- Performs complete history and physical exams for the purpose of determining capacity to safely perform specified job functions.
- Provides medical opinion regarding job accommodations if needed to safely perform specified job functions.
- Participates in the legal process of workers’ compensation, including Samm’s calls, depositions, and testifying in hearings when requested.
- Performs Fit for Duty & Return to work evaluations.
- Evaluates and manages the following conditions:
- Common occupational musculoskeletal injuries of the neck, back, and upper and lower extremities.
- Work-related injuries to the head with or without loss of consciousness, assuming the individual is currently conscious and alert.
- Work-related injuries to the chest or abdomen, with the possibility of hernias.
- Work-related lacerations of the face, scalp, and extremities.
- Work-related eye injuries, including foreign bodies to the eye, non-penetrating eye injuries, and chemical exposures.
- Occupational asthma and other work-related respiratory symptoms.
Requirements
- MD/DO Unrestricted Arizona Medical Licensure with no active stipulations
- Active full DEA license
- Current BLS certification
- FMCSA certified for DOT exams within 90 days of hire
- Board Certification in primary specialty preferred but not required in: Occupational Med, Family Med, Internal Med, Emergency Med, PMR, Orthopedics (preferred, others will be considered)
- MRO certification preferred
- Solid, demonstrated knowledge of the practice and application of occupational medicine.
- Working knowledge of laws and regulations governing rehabilitation services; of worker’s compensation and clinical procedures/processes; and of diagnoses and treatment of occupational injury and disease.
- Working knowledge of medical office administration and procedures.
- Sound administration and management skills.
- Ability to instruct, teach, and correct.
- Confident and professional demeanor with medical providers, administrators, and clients.
- Ability to perform treadmill stress tests, preferred.
