About the role
The Physician provides direct patient care in accordance with evidence-based treatment guidelines. They deliver care in a team-centered approach, interact with patients and families to keep them informed and engaged in healthcare decisions, provide counseling and education on wellness and prevention, and refer patients as appropriate for specialty care and educational training.
Responsibilities
- Spend scheduled time in the clinic providing compassionate patient care.
- Complete documentation of patient encounters as per guidelines.
- Return patient calls in a timely manner.
- Review patient medical records, tests, and study results to make recommendations for treatment options, including appropriateness of second opinions.
- Provide state-of-the-art care utilizing the latest medical services and scientific evidence to develop treatment plans.
- Follow evidence-based treatment guidelines.
- Complete medical records in a timely fashion.
- Develop care protocols for basic health assessment and initiation of appropriate care.
- Act as a resource for worker’s compensation, disability management, risk management, and other groups related to prevention or treatment of injuries and illness, including investigative support and problem resolution.
- Act as a resource for individuals involved in the administration of the HonorHealth Employee Assistance Program.
- Participate in developing referral procedures and/or contracts with physicians and other healthcare providers for services beyond HonorHealth’s scope.
- Communicate with primary and referring physicians.
- Demonstrate behaviors reflecting a commitment to continuous professional development and ethics.
- Show understanding and sensitivity to diversity.
- Respect confidentiality, including HIPAA regulations.
- Adhere to all institutional and regulatory guidelines, participate in staff training, and engage in activities designed to provide the highest quality patient care.
- Interact effectively and professionally with clinic staff.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Doctorate (M.D. or D.O).
- Board Certified or eligible.
- Member of Medical Staff.
- Arizona State Physician licensure or other compact state Medical license (upon hire).
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Current Fingerprint Clearance Card or eligibility to apply within seven working days of employment (Pediatric Behavioral Health Sites only).
