About the role

The Physician Assistant provides healthcare services to patients in both the clinic and in surgery, under the direction and responsibility of physician(s). This is a full-time position located in Woodbury.

Responsibilities

  • Aid in the clinic by assisting the physician (e.g., rooming and preparing patients, ordering x-rays, compiling patient medical data)
  • Support the surgeon in the operating room (e.g., pre-surgery planning, positioning the patient, checking for proper instruments, assisting during the surgical procedure, closing wounds, removing the patient)
  • Perform therapeutic procedures such as splinting, casting, suturing, and wound care
  • Apply, remove, modify, and adjust casts and soft goods; change dressings; remove sutures
  • Implement patient management plans, document progress, and assist in providing care
  • Conduct consultations with patients (phone or in-person) for cast applications, dressing changes, or brace applications
  • Round and take call, as required by the supervising physician
  • Prescribe medications
  • Occasionally participate in community functions related to TCO outreach events

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program
  • NCCPA certification
  • Minnesota Board of Medical Practice registration/license
  • DEA registration

  • Prompt and reliable attendance
  • Efficient and productive work pace, handling interruptions appropriately, meeting deadlines

  • Respectful and professional communication in face-to-face, phone, and email interactions
  • Logical thinking to define problems, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions

Actual starting pay varies based on education, skills, and experience.
