About the Role

Seeking a Physician Assistant - Surgery to perform diagnostic, therapeutic, and patient care tasks under physician supervision at a healthcare facility.

Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough patient histories and physical examinations for inpatients and outpatients.
• Perform life-saving BLS and ACLS procedures during emergencies, with or without physician presence.
• Assist physicians with procedures within scope of practice and support team activities such as rounds and conferences.
• Educate patients and families on preventative care, treatments, and health topics.
• Initiate referrals, order and interpret diagnostic tests, and document patient progress.
• Perform procedures like blood draws, suturing, wound care, intubations, and placement of catheters.
• Write prescriptions and ensure compliance with relevant protocols and regulations.

Requirements

• Current New York State Physician Assistant License.
• Bachelor’s degree in Physician Assistant studies.
• Certifications in BLS and ACLS; PALS required based on privileges.
