About the Role
Seeking a Physician Assistant - Surgery to perform diagnostic, therapeutic, and patient care tasks under physician supervision at a healthcare facility.
Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough patient histories and physical examinations for inpatients and outpatients.
- Perform life-saving BLS and ACLS procedures during emergencies, with or without physician presence.
- Assist physicians with procedures within scope of practice and support team activities such as rounds and conferences.
- Educate patients and families on preventative care, treatments, and health topics.
- Initiate referrals, order and interpret diagnostic tests, and document patient progress.
- Perform procedures like blood draws, suturing, wound care, intubations, and placement of catheters.
- Write prescriptions and ensure compliance with relevant protocols and regulations.
Requirements
- Current New York State Physician Assistant License.
- Bachelor’s degree in Physician Assistant studies.
- Certifications in BLS and ACLS; PALS required based on privileges.
