Physician Assistant - Spine

Job Summary

As a Physician Assistant supporting an Orthopaedic Spine Physician at Des Moines Orthopaedic Surgeons, P.C., you will provide orthopedic spine care to patients seeking to return to daily life and activities they enjoy. This position supports clinics in Ankeny, West Des Moines, and Urbandale, with anticipated clinic days every Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday, and surgery days every Monday and Tuesday.

Responsibilities

• Provide care coordination and clinic services
• Support surgical procedures under the supervision of the Physician
• Assist in patient transport and positioning
• Communicate with patients to diagnose and provide treatment options
• Act as a guide during patient intake and follow-up appointments
• Work in a fast-paced, specialized environment

Requirements

• A master’s degree from an accredited Physician’s Assistant program
• A license to practice in the state of Iowa
• Current DEA and CSA credentials (available through in-house credentialing)
• Calmness and ability to provide reassurance to patients
• Curiosity and active listening skills

Qualifications

• Experience in a fast-paced, specialized environment
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Strong communication and patient care skills

Pay and Schedule

• One on-call day per week
