Responsibilities

  • Conducts physical exams and preventive health measures per guidelines and approved agreements
  • Performs procedures such as injections, suturing, wound care, and infection management
  • Develops patient care plans, records progress, and ensures continuity of care
  • Educates patients on treatment plans, health maintenance, growth and development
  • Orders and interprets diagnostic tests to assess clinical conditions
  • Collaborates with physicians and healthcare teams for comprehensive care
  • Prescribes or recommends treatments, including medications and therapies
  • Refers patients to specialists or physicians as needed
  • Maintains patient health records to ensure accurate and up-to-date documentation and records
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Maintains state licenses/certifications to practice
  • Maintains Board of Pharmacy Prescribing License (if applicable)
  • Current NCCPA national certification required
  • Degree from ARC-PA accredited program
  • Federal DEA license (matching each state of practice as applicable)
  • Current certification with hands-on training in AHA, ARC or equivalent Basic Life Support for health care providers is required; Advanced Cardiac Life Support may also be required based on contract scope of services
  • At least three years of clinical experience as a Physician Assistant in an ambulatory care, occupational health, family practice or emergency department setting

Schedule

  • PRN opportunity with flexible, as-needed scheduling
  • Clinic hours are 8:00 AM – 6:00 PM
  • 30-minute lunch break provided during shifts
  • Weekend commitment includes at least two Saturday/Sunday shifts per month
  • Work alongside a collaborative team of 2–3 providers during weekend coverage
  • Dedicated Charting Blocks
  • Primary focus is acute and same-day care in a fast-paced, patient-centered environment
  • Limited chronic care responsibilities focused on exacerbations and medication refill needs
