Job Summary

The PA practices under supervising physicians in the BMH Physician Practices to evaluate patients in the office setting and, in some instances, in the nursing homes. The PA treats both acute and chronic problems. The scope of problems encountered by the PA is the same as those dealt with by the supervising physicians in the practices.

Requirements

  • Certification/degree from an accredited Physician Assistant program.
  • Two years of PA experience in a primary care practice, or a relevant specialty practice preferred.
  • Current licensure as a PA-C by the State of Vermont.
  • Certifications as an adult or family Physician Assistant by a national organization, which is recognized by the Vermont State Board of Medical Practice.
  • Qualified to be credentialed by the BMH Medical Staff.
  • CPR certification.
  • OSHA Category I - Tasks that involve exposure to blood, body fluids, or tissues require use of techniques of Universal Precautions as evidenced with blood borne pathogens standards.

  • On-the-job time is spent in the following physical activities: Standing, Walking, Sitting, Talking or Hearing.
  • This position requires that weight be lifted or force be exerted: Up to 30 pounds.
  • This position has vision requirements: Close Vision (clear vision at 20 inches or less), Color Vision (ability to identify and distinguish colors), Ability to Adjust Focus (ability to adjust eye to bring an object into sharp focus).
  • Hearing: Ability to hear calls, Ability to hear instructions from physician/department staff/others.

Compensation

The typical noise level for an office environment is quiet. Moderate noise.

The listed range represents the pay scale reasonably expected for a successful candidate based on factors such as relevant experience, education, internal equity, and market competitiveness. Final compensation will be determined during the hiring process. Salary Description: $106,000-$122,000.
