Physician Assistant Per Diem - Warwick, RI

About the role

Ortho Rhode Island has an excellent opportunity for a per diem Physician Assistant to join its Ortho RI Express team. The Physician Assistant will provide care at the Warwick location.

Responsibilities

• Assess and treat urgent musculoskeletal injuries in an orthopedic urgent care setting.
• Perform and document history and physicals of walk‑in patients.
• Evaluate and treat injuries including sprains, strains, fractures, wound care and post‑op problems.
• Perform in‑office procedures such as cast/splint placements, wound care and managing infection.
• Order X‑rays and other diagnostic tests as needed.
• Consistently and accurately document all calls, treatments, medications, etc. in patient chart.
• Instruct and counsel patients regarding diagnosis and follow‑up steps.
• Respond to all patient questions.
• Assist physicians in addressing urgent patient needs as necessary.
• Maintain clinical information with additions/corrections as needed.
• Consult with an orthopedic surgeon as needed.
• Perform other duties/projects as assigned.

Requirements

• NCCPA certified.
• Rhode Island PA license.
• DEA registration.
• Minimum of one‑year orthopedic or emergency room experience preferred.
