Physician Assistant - Part Time

Under the supervision of a licensed physician, Physician Assistants and Nurse Practitioners provide healthcare services to patients in clinic and via tele-medicine according to the established principles of the clinical practice.

Responsibilities

• Act as a medical consultant/advisor regarding the medical status of clients presenting for physical examinations.
• Provide healthcare to patients both in clinic and via tele-medicine according to established principles of clinical practice and organizational needs.
• Consult Center medical director or on-site staff physician for recommendations on clinical management and treatment plans when needed.
• Perform complete history and physical exams to determine capacity to safely perform specified job functions.
• Provide medical opinion regarding job accommodations if needed to safely perform specified job functions.
• Participate in the legal process of workers’ compensation, including Samm’s calls, depositions, and testifying in hearings when requested.
• Evaluate and manage the following conditions:
  • Common occupational musculoskeletal injuries of the neck, back, and upper and lower extremities.
  • Work-related injuries to the head with or without loss of consciousness, assuming the individual is currently conscious and alert.
  • Work-related injuries to the chest or abdomen, with the possibility of hernias.
  • Work-related lacerations of the face, scalp, and extremities.
  • Work-related eye injuries, including foreign bodies to the eye, non-penetrating eye injuries, and chemical exposures.
  • Work-related rashes and other occupational skin conditions.
  • Occupational asthma and other work-related respiratory symptoms.
  • Treatment of non-displaced uncomplicated fractures, including interpreting radiographs, splinting, and orthopedic referral when appropriate.
• Perform complete and accurate history and physical, including detailed documentation of current work-related complaint, mechanism of injury, activity and occupational limitations.
• Be aware of OSHA recordability and render medically appropriate care while being sensitive to treatment which makes an injury recordable to the employer.
• Prescribe appropriate medications and therapy.
• Order and interpret radiographs.
• Refer for specialized testing such as MRI, EMG as necessary and appropriate.
• Refer for specialty care as appropriate.
• Identify appropriate limitations to activity at home and work.
• Render an opinion regarding causality and work relatedness.
• Communicate with employers at the completion of the first visit to review the treatment plan and work capacity of the patient, and as requested through the case.
• Support the values, mission, and vision of MBI Industrial Medicine, Inc., through compliance with organizational policies and procedures.
• Promote positive interaction with others through professional maturity, respect, teamwork, and appreciation of diversity.
• Exhibit effective communication skills, including proper use of corporate communication systems and chain of command.
• Support the strategic plan of MBI Industrial Medicine, Inc., through a working knowledge of organizational goals, mission, and values.
• Participate in strategic planning activities as requested.
• Work in partnership with the Clinic Administrator and Center Medical Director to promote best patient outcomes, work processes, and staff engagement.

Requirements

• Master’s degree and/or appropriate licensure to work as a Nurse Practitioner (N.P.) or Physician Assistant (P.A.).
• FMCSA certified for DOT exams (to gain certification within 90 days of hire).
• Active full DEA license.
• Current BLS certificate.
• Colorado Unrestricted License.
• Practice according to the Colorado DOWC medical treatment guidelines.
• Possess & maintain State of Colorado Workers Compensation Division Level I accreditation as soon as possible after hire.

Pay

$65-70/hr

Part Time position - Mon, Tues, Thurs 8am-5pm
