About the Role
Seeking a Full-Time Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner Float to provide primary medical direction and coordination of professional medical care within the occupational health program. This role operates Monday-Friday, 8 am-5 pm, and includes a float stipend along with monthly and quarterly bonuses.
Responsibilities
- Examines patients and compiles medical data, including health history and results of physical examinations.
- Administers or orders diagnostic tests such as x-rays, electrocardiograms, and laboratory tests.
- Interprets diagnostic test results for deviations from normal.
- Performs therapeutic procedures, including injections, immunizations, suturing, wound care, and infection management.
- Instructs and counsels patients regarding compliance with prescribed therapeutic regimens and health maintenance.
- Develops and implements patient management plans, records progress notes, and assists in continuity of care.
- Assists in developing, implementing, and revising policies affecting medical practice judgment and quality of occupational health care.
- Assists in the development and presentation of education and instructional programs.
- Provides excellent customer service to patients, clients, and peers while incorporating Concentra’s values.
- Ensures accurate, concise, timely, and complete documentation of results and paperwork.
- Delivers compassionate and efficient patient care regardless of patient volume.
- Manages time, prioritizes tasks, and adapts to changing business needs, including scheduling adjustments.
- Seeks opportunities for additional clinical training and self-development to maintain quality care.
- Communicates effectively with patients, clients, supervisors, and peers while adhering to Concentra’s values.
- Holds self and others accountable and assists team members to achieve results.
Requirements
- Proficiency in basic suturing/laceration repairs and basic x-ray reads.
- Comfortable seeing pediatric patients aged two years and older.
- Minimum of two years of clinical experience in a primary care specialty and/or occupational medicine.
- Demonstrated knowledge of occupational medicine requirements (state-specific).
- Knowledge of laws and regulations governing the delivery of rehabilitation services and workers' compensation.
- Demonstrated working knowledge of clinical operations.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to handle sensitive information (HIPAA/PHI) in compliance with laws and policies.
- Willingness to participate in Continuing Medical Education (CME).
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a related health field from an accredited college or university.
- Licensure requirements of the state of jurisdiction.
- Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant (PA) or Nurse Practitioner (NP) program.
- Board Certification.
- Occupational Medicine experience preferred; training provided for otherwise qualified candidates.
- FMCSA NRCME certification required prior to start date (provided if not already certified).
- DEA certification required prior to start date.

Pay
This position is eligible to earn a base compensation in the range of $165,000 - $185,000 annually, plus a float stipend and monthly/quarterly bonuses. Compensation depends on job-related factors such as level of experience, geographic location, and seniority.
Schedule
Full-time, Monday-Friday, 8 am-5 pm. No nights, weekends, holidays, or on-call shifts.
