Physician Assistant/Nurse Practitioner - General Surgery
About the role
Novant Health is seeking an experienced Advanced Practice Provider to join a busy, growing surgical practice of 5 physicians and 5 APPs in Asheville, NC. This position will assist in general and endocrine surgery as well as seeing pre- and post-surgery patients in the office.
Responsibilities
- Assist in general and endocrine surgery
- See pre- and post-surgery patients in the office
- Enjoy a care team approach, educating patients and committed to the health and wellness of patients and communities
- Perform a variety of functions under the supervision of surgeons
Requirements
- Master's Degree required
- Graduate of an NCCPA accredited physician assistant program
- RNFA required for NP candidates
- One year of experience in surgery preferred
- Current PA license in appropriate state required
- NCCPA, ACLS, DEA registry required
Qualifications
- Ability to successfully complete generic and depart-specific skills validation and competency testing
- Thorough knowledge of diagnosis and pharmacology
- Thorough skill in physical assessment and management of chronic illness
- Communication skills, both verbal and written
- General computer knowledge is preferred
- Ability to work independently, yet in collaboration when necessary
- Ability to use problem-solving, decision making, creative and communication skills
- Dedicated to patient rehabilitation and self-care

What We're Looking For
- Education: Master's Degree required. Graduate of an NCCPA accredited physician assistant program.
- Experience: One year of experience in surgery preferred.
