About the role

Novant Health is seeking an experienced Advanced Practice Provider to join a busy, growing surgical practice of 5 physicians and 5 APPs in Asheville, NC. This position will assist in general and endocrine surgery as well as seeing pre- and post-surgery patients in the office.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in general and endocrine surgery
  • See pre- and post-surgery patients in the office
  • Enjoy a care team approach, educating patients and committed to the health and wellness of patients and communities
  • Perform a variety of functions under the supervision of surgeons

Requirements

  • Master's Degree required
  • Graduate of an NCCPA accredited physician assistant program
  • RNFA required for NP candidates
  • One year of experience in surgery preferred
  • Current PA license in appropriate state required
  • NCCPA, ACLS, DEA registry required

Qualifications

  • Ability to successfully complete generic and depart-specific skills validation and competency testing
  • Thorough knowledge of diagnosis and pharmacology
  • Thorough skill in physical assessment and management of chronic illness
  • Communication skills, both verbal and written
  • General computer knowledge is preferred
  • Ability to work independently, yet in collaboration when necessary
  • Ability to use problem-solving, decision making, creative and communication skills
  • Dedicated to patient rehabilitation and self-care

What We're Looking For
