Physician Assistant/Nurse Practitioner

About the role

The Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner will work with the collaborating physician in an active inpatient practice to deliver health care services to our patients. The PA/NP shall consult with the collaborating physician by telecommunication or in person as needed. In the absence of the designated collaborating physician, another physician shall be available for consultation. This position provides local hospital support at St Vincent East, Brookwood, and Grandview in Birmingham, AL.

Responsibilities

• Work with the collaborating physician in an active inpatient and outpatient practice to deliver health care services.
• Diagnose, treat, and manage acute and chronic health problems.
• Prescribe appropriate pharmacologic treatment, including controlled substances as delegated.
• Monitor the effectiveness of interventions.
• Order, interpret, and perform laboratory and radiology tests.
• Perform other therapeutic or corrective measures as indicated.

Requirements

• Graduation from an accredited school.
• Current Alabama PA license or Alabama NP license.
• Two years’ experience, preferably in an infectious disease field.
• Proof of current vaccinations and recommended boosters (measles, mumps, rubella, varicella, hepatitis A & B, influenza, COVID‑19) required for work with immunocompromised patients.

Pay

$110,000‑$120,000 total compensation ($85,000 base salary + monthly incentive).

Schedule

Full‑Time, Monday‑Friday with one weekend per month.
