Physician Assistant - GYN/Oncology

About the role
In this role, the Physician Assistant will perform medical examinations, selected diagnostic and therapeutic tasks, and other special procedures to assist in the delivery of medical services to patients.

Responsibilities
Patient Care
- Provide outpatient care to Gynecologic Oncology patients Monday through Friday
- Obtain comprehensive medical histories and perform physical examinations
- Assess treatment tolerability and evaluate psychosocial adjustment to diagnosis
- Manage acute treatment-related complications
- Order laboratory tests, imaging studies, and other diagnostic procedures
Management & Development
- Develop treatment plans in collaboration with the attending physician and multidisciplinary team, including nursing and social work, to provide optimal patient care
- Coordinate specialty consultations
- Assist with research data collection as appropriate
- Participate in ongoing professional development
- Develop procedural skills, including pelvic examinations, biopsies, and other in-office gynecologic procedures
Patient Satisfaction
- Interact on a frequent, regular, and daily basis with patients, family members, physicians, nursing, social work, and other healthcare professionals
- Provide education, counseling, and support
- Help patients navigate their diagnosis and treatment plan with empathy and compassion
Medication & Orders
- Prescribe medications and write orders
- Perform approved outpatient procedures
- Respond to changes in patient condition in collaboration with the multidisciplinary oncology team
Documentation
- Obtain complete, detailed, and accurate patient histories
- Review patient records and perform physical examinations
- Document all pertinent findings to develop comprehensive treatment plans and ensure continuity of care for assigned patients
Requirements
- BS: Physician Assistant (Required)
Qualifications
- PA-C - Certified Physician Assistant - National Committee on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA)
- RPA - Registered Physician Assistant - New York State Education Department (NYSED)
Physical Requirements
Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects; requires frequent walking, standing or squatting.

Pay
The listed base pay range is $100,000.00 - $150,000.00. It may be modified in the future and eligible for additional pay components. Pay is determined by factors including experience, relevant qualifications, specialty, internal equity, location, and contracts.
