Physician Assistant - Emergency Room | Full-Time
About the Role
Join a highly collaborative team of Emergency Medicine Physician Assistants at NewYork-Presbyterian Brooklyn Methodist Hospital, where you will play a critical role in delivering world-class, patient-centered care. As a valued member of our Emergency Department, you will work alongside experienced physicians, advanced practice providers, nurses, and multidisciplinary specialists in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment. Our PAs are respected clinical leaders who provide compassionate, evidence-based care to patients and families during some of their most critical moments.
Practice at a leading community and academic medical center within a designated Level II Trauma Center and a recognized New York State Stroke Center with 24/7 specialist support. Collaborate with a team recognized by the American Stroke Association with the Get With The Guidelines®-Stroke Gold Plus Achievement Award. Enjoy a dynamic practice with broad procedural and clinical responsibilities.
Responsibilities
- Patient assessment, triage, and management
- Emergency resuscitation and stabilization
- Fast Track evaluation and treatment
- Performing emergency procedures, including:
- Intubation
- Chest tube insertion
- Central venous line placement
- Other advanced bedside procedures
- Development and implementation of treatment plans
- Patient education and discharge planning
- Collaboration with multidisciplinary teams to ensure exceptional patient outcomes
Requirements
- Minimum of 1–2 years of Emergency Department experience as a Physician Assistant
- Bachelor's or Master's degree from an accredited Physician Assistant program
- Current New York State Physician Assistant License
- Current NCCPA Certification
- Current ACLS and BLS Certifications
- New York State Infection Control Certification

Pay
Salary Range: $70.30–$93.88 per hour
Schedule
This is a full-time, rotating shift position that includes days, evenings, nights, and up to two weekends per month. All roles require on-site presence, so employees should live within a commutable distance to NYP.
