Summary

Highland Hospital, part of Alameda Health System, is seeking a Full Time Advanced Practice Provider (Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant) for their Adult Medicine Clinic in Oakland, CA. Located at Highland Hospital, this clinic is the largest adult medicine primary care clinic in the system and serves as a teaching clinic for Internal Medicine residents. The position involves a mix of direct clinical care and EPIC inbasket support, potentially including evenings.

Duties & Essential Job Functions

1. Consults with physicians as necessary regarding patients' health status. 2. Participates in annual performance reviews as needed. 3. Orders and/or performs laboratory and screening tests in accordance with approved protocols. 4. Conducts history and complete physical examinations of patients, assessing their clinical status and maintaining health records. 5. Develops and implements a care plan, consulting with physicians, other professionals, patients, and families as needed. 6. Evaluates patient care according to protocols and quality assurance program criteria. 7. Educates patients, families, and staff; provides counseling services related to promoting good health practices.

Qualifications

- Minimum Experience: Demonstrated experience as a Mid-Level Practitioner. - Preferred Experience: One year in area of specialty, PG Residency of ED experience, or post-graduate training in area of responsibility. - Required Education: - For Nurse Practitioners: Successful completion of an approved Nurse Practitioner training program conforming to Board of Registered Nursing standards; graduate of an accredited Nursing program preferred. - For Physician Assistants: Completion of a Physician Assistant program approved by the Physician Assisting Examining Committee; NCCPA certification for Physician Assistants. - Required Licenses/Certifications: - For Nurse Practitioners: RN license, NP certification from the California Board of Registered Nursing, and ANCC or AANP certification or NCCPA. - For Physician Assistants: PA certificate from the California Board of Medical Quality Assurance, DEA number, and NCCPA certification. - Preferred Licenses/Certifications: ACLS, ATLS, SART, depending on specialty; BLS certification; PALS certification (required for emergency department or pediatric care).

Pay Range

$88.11 - $117.05/Hour
