PHYSICIAN ASSISTANT
About the role
PAs perform exercise and tilt table testing, assist in electrophysiologic studies, insert temporary pacing catheters and intracardiac mapping, analyze recordings, orient cardiology fellows, conduct initial and follow-up history and physical exams on arrhythmia evaluation, evaluate pacemaker and ICD patients, and participate in patient care and research.
Responsibilities
- Perform exercise and tilt table testing
- Absorb and assist in electrophysiologic studies
- Insert temporary pacing catheters and intracardiac mapping
- Analyze recordings from electrophysiologic studies
- Orient cardiology fellows to electrophysiologic studies
- Conduct initial and follow-up history and physical exams on arrhythmia evaluation
- Evaluate pacemaker and ICD patients
- Assist in the care of post-operative wounds
- Participate in recruitment and care of patients in research protocols
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED
- Certified by the National Commission of the Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA)
- New York State Physician Assistant License
- Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program
- 3 years of clerical experience involving patient billing or an equivalent combination of training and experience
- Coverage for both inpatient and outpatient sites of service as operationally necessary
Qualifications
- Must be able to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends
- Must be able to pass a background check
- Must be able to pass a drug screen

Pay
$72.85 hourly rate, subject to change based on shift differential, experience, education, or other relevant factors.
Schedule
Day shift, varying days, 8 AM-6:30 PM, 9.5 hours per day.
