About the role
As part of the Psychopharmacology team, you will report to the Medical Director, New York. This is an exempt, full-time, hybrid position requiring a minimum of four days per week in the office, on a schedule determined by your supervisor in our NYC headquarters or other relevant location. The in-office requirement and schedule are subject to change based on the needs of the program and the organization.
Responsibilities
- Support physicians in conducting evaluations by gathering patient histories and relevant clinical information, including obtaining collateral information from schools/teachers and any outside providers.
- Obtain and document vital signs and other clinical measurements, including height, weight, BMI, and standardized rating scales.
- Assist with medication management under physician supervision, including documenting patient response, side effects, and adherence.
- Prepare and review patient charts prior to visits, ensuring completeness.
- Document clinical encounters accurately and in a timely manner in the electronic health record.
- Coordinate care and provide education about treatment plans with clinical team members, including psychiatrists, other physicians, psychologists, social workers, behavioral health technicians, school staff, and staff associates as appropriate.
- Provide education to patients and families regarding treatment plans and medications, as directed by the supervising physician.
- Assist with prescription workflows, refill requests, and follow-up communication in collaboration with supervising psychiatrists.
- Maintain compliance with all clinical, regulatory, and documentation standards.
- Participate in team meetings, case discussions, and quality improvement initiatives.
- Perform additional job-related duties as needed.
Scope of practice includes delegated clinical responsibilities in accordance with New York State regulations and organizational policies.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant (PA) program.
- Current, valid, and unrestricted Physician Assistant license in New York State.
- Current NCCPA certification (or eligibility).
- Must work under a licensed supervising physician in accordance with New York State regulations.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in pediatrics, psychiatry, or behavioral health.
- Familiarity with psychopharmacology and working with children and adolescents.

The salary range for the position is posted.
