About the role
This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific eligibility requirements per VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment. Program Approval, award amount (up to $200,000) & eligibility period (one to five years) are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after review of the EDRP application. Former EDRP participants ineligible to apply.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for direct provision of peri-operative anesthetic care and ensuring the facility and program are meeting and exceeding compliance standards.
- Provides peri-operative care including pre-operative assessment, intra-operative anesthetic, administration and monitoring of post-anesthesia care in compliance with national accreditation standards.
- Provides expert consultation and guidance to CRNA, nursing, and other medical staff in the administration of the anesthesia programs.
- Performs administrative components of patient care management such as completion of progress notes, OP reports, and discharge summaries.
- Provides feedback and patient education to the patients and their families and demonstrates excellence in all facets of patient care and meets or exceeds compliance standards.
- Should be proficient and privileged in all aspects of Anesthesiology.

Qualifications
- U.S. Citizenship: Non-citizens may only be appointed when it is not possible to recruit qualified citizens in accordance with VA Policy.
- Doctor of Medicine or equivalent degree from an approved school.
- Full and unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States, or in the District of Columbia.
- Completed residency training in a core specialty approved by the Secretary of Veterans Affairs.

Schedule
Full time: Monday through Friday 7:00am-3:30pm; Part Time: Monday - Thursday 7am-3:30pm.
