Physician - Anesthesiology

QuarterLine (QL), a Planned Systems International (PSI) Company, is seeking a skilled and compassionate Anesthesiologist to deliver exceptional patient care services at Mike O’Callaghan Military Medical Center (MOMMC), Nellis Air Force Base, Nevada. This role supports the military healthcare mission by providing timely, high-quality, and patient-focused radiological care in a dynamic clinical environment. The ideal candidate will possess strong clinical expertise, sound medical judgment, and the ability to effectively manage emergent and complex cases. Excellent communication, collaboration, and leadership skills are critical for success.

Schedule

BLOCK structure. Contract personnel generally work 40 hours per week, with a custom schedule that may include rare exceptions. Common duty hours are:

• Weekdays: 6:30am to 3:00pm, 6:30am to 5:00pm, or 6:30am to 7:00pm
• In-house call shifts: 3:00pm–5:00pm until 6:30am the following morning on weekdays
• Weekends/holidays: 7:00am–7:00am (24 hours) or 7:00am–7:00pm / 7:00pm–7:00am (12 hours)

A post-call day off is provided after a call shift unless pre-determined otherwise. Contract personnel may be available for 0–2 call shifts per month or a set number of shifts if substituting for regular duty hours.

Overage hours (0–12 per week, not to exceed 25 annually) are available only for continuity of care or emergencies and must be performed in-house.

Responsibilities

• Perform a full range of physician services in accordance with privileges granted by the MTF.
• Clinically guide, perform, or assist in the instruction of other healthcare professionals within the scope of clinical privileges.
• Provide consultation services and anesthesia for surgery patients of all age groups.
• Conduct thorough pre-anesthetic assessments, including patient interviews, examinations, and interpretation of ancillary tests (laboratory, imaging).
• Formulate care plans, educate patients, and order therapy, including prescription medications.
• Provide general, regional, and local anesthesia services as required for surgery.
• Record pertinent data in medical records and relay outcomes to primary care providers and surgeons.
• Perform patient follow-ups as needed and transfer care to qualified practitioners while ensuring continuity and safety.
• Maintain a professional manner and positive/cooperative attitude.
• Provide sole anesthetic care without routine assistance from colleagues.
• Comply with safety policies and ensure medical paperwork and surgical consent match the patient’s identity and understanding of the procedure.
• Be present and available for work at appointed times, adhering to vacation, sick leave, and scheduled work shifts, including call shifts.
• Provide consultation/backup for CRNAs as needed.
• Maintain appropriate DoD, AF, and/or state licensure and certification requirements.
• Complete MHS Genesis, Spinal Anesthesia (SA), or job-specific data training as required by MOMMC/99th Medical Group.

Requirements

• Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) or Doctor of Osteopathy (D.O.) degree.
• Graduation from a medical school in the United States, Canada, or one approved by the Liaison Committee on Medical Education of the AMA; or graduation from a college of osteopathy approved by the AOA; or graduation from a medical school with ECFMG certification.
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience beyond residency training (experience under 2 years may be evaluated on a case-by-case basis).
• Completion of an accredited residency approved by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME).
• Current certifications:
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) (Course C)
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP)
  • Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS)

  Certifications must be through American Heart Association or American Red Cross (computer-based training does not fulfill requirements).

• Board eligible or board certified as required by the Task Order.
• Permanent, full, and unrestricted Medical License to practice medicine in Nevada.
• U.S. citizenship and willingness to comply with DHA vaccination requirements.
• Subject to a background/security investigation and pre-employment drug screening.
• Must pass a TB test.
• Maintain good personal hygiene and present a well-groomed, professional appearance.
