Physician Advanced Heart Failure

Key Responsibilities

  • Evaluate and manage patients with advanced heart failure, pulmonary hypertension, and complex cardiomyopathy, including inpatient and outpatient care.
  • Manage ventricular assist devices (VAD), temporary MCS (ECMO), and patients with cardiogenic shock.
  • Lead program development for Advanced Heart Failure, durable VAD and transplant initiatives.
  • Engage in departmental quality improvement initiatives and attend faculty meetings as required.
  • Work with cardiac surgeons, specialized nurses, pharmacists, and social workers on multi-disciplinary teams.

Position Highlights

  • 505-bed tertiary care academic hospital.
  • Candidates are eligible for faculty appointments with the OU College of Medicine, Department of Medicine.
  • Academic rank will be commensurate with academic experience and accomplishments.
  • Faculty pathways include Academic Physician, Clinician Educator, and Clinician Investigator, depending on scholarship focus.
  • Robust APP support, dedicated HF nursing, and a growing referral base including new VA partnerships.
  • Opportunities for leadership roles including Medical Director of Advanced Heart Failure.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Salary: Competitive starting salary based on experience, plus production and quality incentives; sign-on bonuses available.
  • Professional Development: $5,500 CME allowance.
  • Retirement: 401(k) with 6% employer match + additional 3% employer contribution.
