About the Role

Geisinger, a nationally recognized leader in innovation and quality care, is seeking an Advanced Endoscopy Gastroenterologist to join the Advanced Center for Endoscopy at Geisinger Medical Center in Danville, Pennsylvania. The Advanced Center for Endoscopy is a forward-thinking, innovative center recognized nationally for excellence in advanced endoscopy, education, and clinical research. Our faculty include nationally and internationally recognized leaders in therapeutic endoscopy who are committed to advancing the field through cutting-edge clinical care, fellowship education, and scholarly activity.

Geisinger Medical Center features a state-of-the-art 10-room endoscopy suite, motility laboratory, and a comprehensive multidisciplinary digestive disease program. The successful candidate will join a collaborative team of more than 20 gastroenterologists, advanced practice providers, embedded IBD and hepatitis C pharmacists, an ACGME-accredited GI Fellowship, and a transplant hepatology fellowship, supported by one of the nation's most integrated healthcare systems.

Responsibilities

  • Perform the full spectrum of advanced diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, including EUS, ERCP, POEM, EMR, ESD, TNE, cryoablation, endoluminal stenting, EndoFLIP evaluation, and other emerging endoscopic technologies.
  • Practice in an environment that encourages innovation and adoption of new technologies and advanced therapeutic techniques.
  • Serve as faculty in the Advanced Endoscopy Fellowship Program, which trains two fellows annually.
  • Engage in robust opportunities for clinical, translational, and outcomes research through Geisinger's established research enterprise.
  • Hold faculty appointments with the Geisinger Commonwealth School of Medicine and actively participate in the education of fellows, residents, and medical students.
  • Fully integrate with the robust electronic health record (Epic).
  • Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary programs including hepatology, GI oncology, foregut disorders, nutrition and weight management, inflammatory bowel disease, and surgery.

Requirements

  • Doctor of Medicine or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (Required).
  • Licensed Medical Doctor in the State of Pennsylvania.
