Physician (Acute)

About the role

The Department of Medicine at the VA Northeast Ohio Healthcare System is seeking a highly motivated, full-time physician for a challenging Nocturnist Acute Medicine position. This dynamic role encompasses approximately 50% overnight solo coverage of our busy Emergency Department and 50% direct patient care on inpatient medical wards and post-acute units.

Responsibilities

• Cross-coverage and admissions on the inpatient medical wards
• Oversight of a high volume of patients in the post-acute, dementia, and long-term care spinal cord units
• Collaboration with advanced practice providers and resident physicians to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care
• Flexibility and adaptability to additional responsibilities and variable shifts

Requirements

• U.S. Citizenship
• Full and unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in the United States
• Completion of residency training in an accredited core specialty program
• Board certification preferred

Qualifications

• Doctor of Medicine or equivalent degree from an LCME or COCA accredited school
• Completed residency training in an accredited program
• Current, full and unrestricted medical license
• Exceptional communication and organizational skills
