Physician (0.40 FTE), Family Medicine

About the Role
This position provides comprehensive and continuing health and medical care services in full-scope Family Medicine practice with optional Obstetrics. The physician is responsible for diagnosing, preventing, treating, maintaining, and rehabilitating patients, acting as a senior attending or expert. The role requires recognition and knowledge of diseases and injuries necessitating referral, including complex or difficult-to-identify cases.
Qualifications
- Education: Medical Degree (MD or DO).
- License: Current and unrestricted license to practice as a physician in any U.S. state, territory, District of Columbia, or the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico.
- Board Certification: Board Eligible or Board Certified by the American Board of Family Practice.
- Experience: Completion of three (3) years of accredited residency training in Family Practice.
- Credentialing: Must become a credentialed member of the TCRHCC Medical Staff.

Environmental Conditions

Responsibilities
- Interview and examine patients, review medical history, medications, diet, and perform or request diagnostic tests.
- Make preliminary diagnoses, prescribe or provide treatment, or arrange for specialized care or referrals.
- Provide emergency care to stabilize patients and admit/care for hospitalized patients as needed.
- Perform or assist with office-based procedures and manage cases that do not require referral.
- Provide total patient care, including prevention, health maintenance, early diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up services.
- Conduct outpatient clinics, review patient observations, and modify treatment plans as indicated.
- Educate and counsel patients and family members.
- Provide prenatal care, deliver infants (with consultation as needed), and arrange postpartum care.
- Refer patients to contracted medical or healthcare facilities and ensure timely follow-up care.
- Prepare and maintain accurate medical records, dictating clinical reports and correspondence.
- Collaborate with allied health professionals (e.g., Community Health Nurses, Social Workers, Case Managers) to coordinate patient care.
- Train, teach, and supervise medical students and residents.
- Serve as an active member of TCRHCC and participate in assigned committees.
- Ensure legible handwriting and use of Electronic Health Records (EHR).
- Responsible for EHR data entry pertinent to patient care.
- Participate in departmental workflow or testing teams related to EHR or other initiatives.
- May be assigned to work in clinics at different locations (e.g., Tuba City, Sacred Peaks, Lechee, Bodaway Gap).
- Ensure proper use of PPE (e.g., face masks, gloves, gowns, N95 respirators, eye/face shields) and follow CDC guidelines for donning, doffing, and disposal.
- Complete routine cleaning and decontamination tasks for surfaces contaminated by communicable diseases.
- Perform other duties as assigned or directed.
