Physical Therapy Technician/UKHC

About the role

The technician's primary function is to assist in carrying out patient-related activities which are predetermined for each patient and assigned by the physical therapist. The technician's secondary function is to carry out departmental-related activities as determined by his/her immediate supervisor such as general cleaning, scheduling appointments, ordering supplies, processing paperwork, making copies, and sending faxes.

Requirements

• Regularly stand or walk with objects weighing up to 10 pounds; and lift, push, and/or pull objects weighing up to or over 50 pounds; intermittently sit at a computer workstation for extended periods of time; and perform tasks with repetitive motions (such as typing).
• Standing or walking with objects weighing up to 25 pounds; working in confined spaces and/or at heights above four feet.
• Some job-related travel (less than 10% of time).
• Exposure to risk of injury from moving, lifting, or positioning patients, equipment, or materials.
• Exposure to hazardous chemicals and fumes including waste, burns, cuts/punctures, blood-borne or airborne pathogens, recombinant DNA or viral vectors, and combative/violent people.

Qualifications

• High school education.
• Healthcare experience in an outpatient PT/OT setting preferred.

$16.20-24.82/hour

Schedule

Primarily Monday through Friday 8:00am - 5:00pm. Hours could vary between 7:00am and 6:00pm.
