Physical Therapy Technician - PRN

Essential Functions

• Affords support to the Physical Therapist in patient care and treatment implementation.
• Maintains open and effective communication with patients, family members, and other departments.
• Supports the front office staff as needed.
• Responds to patient inquiries and questions to enhance patient satisfaction.
• Ensures the care and maintenance of equipment and keeps the clinic environment safe and clean.
• Assists with supply inventorying and stocking.
• Participates in special projects under the direction of the director.
• Maintains patient confidentiality.
• Assists patients on the rehabilitation floor.
• Contributes to the seamless and efficient operation of the clinic.

Education

• High school diploma/GED or equivalent with working knowledge preferred.
• Graduation from a technical program is preferred.

Experience

• One year of experience in an outpatient physical therapy clinic is preferred.

Knowledge

• Understanding of how to use and maintain physical therapy equipment.
• Comprehension of department policies and procedures.
• Knowledge of OSHA and infection control regulations.

Skills

• Effectively using all equipment.
• Compliance with OSHA and infection control policies.
• Assisting the Physical Therapist with patients.

Abilities

• Clear communication with providers, patients, and family members.
• Effective problem-solving and decision-making skills.
• Maintenance of confidentiality.

Environmental Working Conditions

• Normal clinic environment.
• Some travel within the community.

Physical/Mental Demands

• Sitting and standing associated with a physical therapy clinic environment.
• Bending, lifting, and transferring activities.
• Manual dexterity using a calculator and computer keyboard.
