Job Description
The Physical Therapy Resident is a post-graduate physical therapist participating in a clinical residency program. They work under the direction of the clinical residency program director and Rehab manager. The resident also participates in educational, program development, and community service activities. They must meet all curriculum requirements of the residency program, receive general supervision, and collaborate with other healthcare team members.

Job Tasks
- Evaluates, administers, and directs administration of therapeutic procedures to patients recovering from injury, disease, surgery, or other ailments, as prescribed by a referring practitioner.
- Establishes goals of physical therapy and re-assesses patient’s progress at regular, timely intervals, and supporting findings with appropriate documentation.
- Treatment Planning And Implementation: Creates individualized rehab programs for patients. Utilizes various treatment methods, such as therapeutic exercises, manual therapy, and modalities (e.g., heat, cold, ultrasound).
- Educating and Coaching: Educates and coaches patients on therapeutic exercises and stretches to improve their condition.
- Providing Hands-On Therapy And Pain Management Techniques: Provides hands-on therapy and pain management techniques, including manual therapy, joint mobilizations, soft tissue mobilization, etc.
- Maintaining Patient’s Electronic Medical Record: Maintains accurate patient records, tracks goals and progress, documents adaptations to treatment plans based on patient response and changing needs, advises patients and their families on in-home treatment options and recovery expectations, and appropriately documents education.
