Physical Therapy / Occupational Therapy Aide

Responsibilities

• Assists the therapist in clinical areas of the department.
• Performs treatment procedures predetermined for each patient by the legally qualified therapist.
• Prepares the treatment area, patient, and equipment for treatment.
• Initiates treatment and monitors patient at regular intervals until treatment or exercise conclusion.
• Affords assistance to patients in the safe practice of activities related to the development of strength and endurance.
• Checks equipment for proper functioning and appropriate location.
• Maintains: Follows established procedures pertaining to the care of equipment and supplies.
• Prepares, maintains, and cleans workstations, treatment areas, and the gym.
• Maintains other supportive areas.
• Makes copies of materials as appropriate; files notes within electronic charts; makes pertinent notations.
• Records treatments of patients in chart reviews and processes charge tickets; handles and files other types of documentation.
• Orders supplies according to clinic policies and procedures.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
• Carries out front office duties as needed.

Requirements

• This position requires travel to Hemet and San Bernardino.
• CPR Certification is required.
• No formal experience is required.
• Physical activity: Standing, walking, lifting, fingering, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing.
• Bilingual skills are preferred.
