Physical Therapy Assistant (Home Healthcare)

About the role

The Physical Therapist Assistant provides treatment, exercise instruction, and patient education to improve patient well-being following a plan of care under supervision.

Responsibilities

• Follow state laws and treatment plans set by the supervising Physical Therapist
• Instruct patients in exercises, gait, activities of daily living (ADL), transfers, safety, and prosthetic training
• Monitor, record, and report patient responses and condition changes
• Collaborate with healthcare team members and educate patients, families, and caregivers
• Adapt to various home environments, regardless of client background

Requirements

• Licensed or certified to practice as a Physical Therapist Assistant in the state
• Valid driver’s license, vehicle insurance, or reliable transportation
• Availability for weekend rotations

Preferred Skills

• CPR certification or ability to obtain within 90 days
• Physical ability to assist with patient mobility and transfers
