Job Description
Metro Physical & Aquatic Therapy is seeking part-time Physical Therapist Aides to join their growing team. This is a fast-paced, supportive environment offering state-of-the-art facilities and a collaborative atmosphere.
Essential Responsibilities
- Serve as a scribe for recording and editing therapeutic exercises under supervision
- Helps treat patients by preparing heat and ice packs, assisting with pool activities, guiding exercise, monitoring exertion, and leading exercises and strengthening techniques
- Ensures equipment operation by completing maintenance, troubleshooting, and calling for repairs
- Educates patients on proper equipment and exercise routines
- Welcomes, comforts, and assists patients during therapy sessions
- Provides information to patients and addresses concerns
- Maintains patient confidentiality and ensures a safe, clean environment
- Prepares treatment room and equipment for patients
- Answers calls from physician offices, hospitals, and patients
- Manages supplies inventory and assists with scheduling
- Performs front desk duties as needed
Physical Requirements
- Frequent walking, standing, sitting, reaching, climbing, balancing
- Regular lifting and moving up to 40 pounds
- Close vision, distance vision, and depth perception
Qualifications
- Able to cover 15-20 minutes from home office
- Knowledge of anatomy and kinesiology
- Knowledge of therapy equipment
- Knowledge of patient behavior and needs
- Knowledge of proper strengthening techniques
- Knowledge of restraint and aggressive behavior management
- Ability to complete in-service training
- Ability to observe, evaluate, and record patient conditions
- Ability to maintain professional attitude and conduct
- Ability to create and maintain records and write brief reports
- Effective communication skills
Additional Information
The anticipated hourly pay range for this position is $17-$18.50/hr. Compensation is based on various factors, including relevant experience, knowledge, skills, other job-related qualifications, and geography.
