Physical Therapy Aide (Part Time)

Responsibilities

• Serve as a scribe for recording and editing therapeutic exercises under supervision.
• Helps treat patients by preparing heat and ice packs, assisting with paraffin dips, guiding patients to exercise equipment, monitoring their motion, and tracking exertion levels.
• Ensures equipment operation by completing preventive maintenance, troubleshooting malfunctions, and calling for repairs.
• Educates patients by demonstrating proper use of equipment and exercise routines.
• Welcome, comfort, and assist patients during therapy sessions.
• Answer questions and requests from patients, allaying their fears.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and protect operations by keeping information confidential.
• Maintain a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
• Prepare the treatment room for patients by following prescribed procedures and protocols.
• Answer calls from physician offices, hospitals, and patients using exemplary customer service skills.
• Maintain physical therapy supplies inventory by checking stock, anticipating needed supplies, placing and expediting orders, and verifying receipt of supplies.
• Provide front desk coverage as needed, including answering calls and assisting with scheduling.
• Perform other front desk duties and assignments as required.

Physical Requirements

• Frequent walking, standing, sitting, reaching, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling.
• Regular lifting and moving of up to 40 pounds.
• Close vision, distance vision, and depth perception.

Qualifications

• Able to cover 15-20 minutes from home office.
• Knowledge of Anatomy & Kinesiology.
• Knowledge of therapy equipment.
• Knowledge of patient behavior and needs.
• Knowledge of proper strengthening techniques.
• Knowledge of restraint and aggressive behavior management practices.
• Ability to successfully complete in-service training.
• Ability to observe, evaluate, and record patient conditions.
• Ability to maintain appropriate attitude and conduct necessary to patient welfare.
• Ability to create and maintain records and write brief reports.
• Ability to communicate effectively.

Pay

The anticipated hourly pay range for this position is $17-18.50/hr. Compensation is based on various factors, including relevant experience, knowledge, skills, other job-related qualifications, and geography.
