Patient Transporter Duties and Responsibilities

• Assist unit staff with transfer of residents/patients as necessary.
• Transports residents and patients to/from therapy treatment areas.
• Maintains residents and patients during exercise routines.
• Affords assistance with set-up/clean-up of treatment areas.
• Affords assistance with the cleaning and distribution of wheelchairs.
• Maintains equipment and makes minor repairs.
• Affords assistance with clerical duties (i.e., copying, faxing, filing, answering phones, etc.).
• Keeps work area neat and orderly.
• Maintains residents' and patients' safety during transport and while assisting in treatment area.
• Responds well to instructions and guidance, finds solutions to work related problems, and completes assignments independently, not requiring constant supervision.
• Attends and participates in required and MANDATORY in-service educational programs, on the job training programs, etc. as directed and/or scheduled.

Job Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• You must be goal oriented self-motivated.
• Well-organized and detail oriented
• Exceptional communication and writing skills
