Job Description
We are currently seeking a Bilingual (Spanish) Physical Therapy Aide or Technician to join our outpatient clinic!
Responsibilities
- Assist in and perform patient transfers and lifts using proper body mechanics, according to standard techniques.
- Assist the therapist in evaluations/treatments at the bedside and the rehabilitation gym (i.e., exercises, mat activities, orthosis fabrication, modality preparation).
- Report treatment activities, patient progress, and any unusual response to treatment or incident to the therapist.
- Maintain a neat/tidy appearance in all areas of the department, returning equipment/ supplies to designated areas
- Regularly sanitize exercise equipment, mats, and assistive devices according to hospital safety and infection control standards.
- Evaluate and distribute linen supplies, changing linens on treatment tables according to procedures
- Maintain medical supplies in all treatment areas
- Sustain organization in the closets regularly
- Sweep soiled utility and equipment rooms at least twice weekly for therapy equipment
- Assist in department communication processes—answer telephones, transit messages from nursing service to the therapist, communicate between therapists, etc.
- Assist the therapist with delivery, set-up, and clean-up of the treatment area (i.e., patient room, rehab gym, etc.) for patient care delivery
Qualifications
- Must be Bilingual in Spanish
- This position is full-time: Monday-Friday 8:00AM-5:00PM (Please ensure you are available full-time before applying)
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Strong customer service and telephone skills
- Good Computer skills with MS Office (MS Excel and Word)
- Experience as a Physical Therapy Aide in Outpatient settings is preferred but not required
