Job Hours: Monday - Friday 8:30am-4:30pm
Job Location: Manhattan, NY
Job Compensation: Salary range of $80,000 to $90,000 per year based on education, experience and certifications

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct therapy on a 1:1 basis to individuals between the ages of 4 – 21 years old with autism and other special needs.
  • Complete daily session notes indicating progress towards clients’ skill acquisition.
  • Develop and write annual goals and objectives for each client on caseload.
  • Write semi-annual progress reports describing clients’ acquisition towards established goals.
  • Carry over data collection and behavior management interventions and reinforcement procedures in accordance with each client’s behavior management plan and center policies.
  • Collaborate in a multi-disciplinary setting with other providers (e.g., BCBA's, OT's, and SLP's) that are clients’ team members.
  • Engage and use Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) holds/transport or disengagement tactics for students during behavioral episodes. This may mean physically intervening after being trained thoroughly, to help deescalate children when they become a danger to themselves or others.
  • Submit all thorough and complete paperwork in a timely manner to the PT supervisor.

Requirements

  • Graduate from an accredited university with a degree in Physical Therapy.
  • Current New York State Physical Therapy License.
  • Familiarity with the Bruininks-Oseretsky Test and Peabody Developmental Motor Scales.
