Physical Therapist - (PT, Rehab) - Acute Care - Inpatient

About the role

Responsibilities

• Evaluates patients based on departmental standards.
• Conducts and modifies evaluations based on patient symptoms, activity levels, and medical status.
• Establishes individualized, appropriate, measurable goals for each patient.
• Treats patients with therapeutic exercises, modalities, and manual techniques.
• Affords patients home exercise programs and functional activities.
• Determines when a patient has achieved maximum benefit and recommends discharge if necessary.
• Documents treatments in accordance with insurance guidelines and department policies.
• Fosters communication among departments and with referring physicians.
• Accurately fills out and submits charges daily.
• Adheres to the professional code of ethics.
• Supervises at least one affiliated student per year.
• Participates in continuing education courses.
• Attends departmental and community in-services.

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited physical therapy program with a minimum of a B.S.
• Current Connecticut license in Physical Therapy.

Qualifications

• Strong English communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Personal computer skills, proficiency in Windows-based programs, especially Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and internet search capabilities.
• Access to reliable transportation for travel between multiple work sites.

Skills

• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Ability to travel as required.
