Responsibilities

• Interacts professionally with patients/families; treats patients and their families with respect and dignity.
• Identifies and addresses psychosocial, cultural, ethnic, and religious/spiritual needs of patients and their families.
• Effectively and appropriately communicates with patients, physicians, family members, and coworkers, demonstrating customer service excellence.
• Performs appropriate assessments on all patients (neonate, pediatric, adolescent, geriatric, and general population) and reassessments as per policy.
• Supervises and delegates care provided by certified patient therapy assistants, therapy technicians, therapy aides, students, and other support personnel. Assesses competence, delegates tasks, and establishes communication channels according to licensing laws, state regulations, and practice standards.
• Administers treatment involving physical agent modalities (e.g., moist packs, ultraviolet and infrared lamps, ultrasound machines).
• Performs therapy interventions using standard physical therapy techniques tailored to the age and condition of the patient.
• Evaluates, fits, and adjusts prosthetic and orthotic devices; recommends modifications.
• Plans and carries out individually designed programs to maintain, improve, or restore physical functioning, alleviate pain, and prevent physical dysfunction.
• Formulates and evaluates teaching plans based on identified learning needs; includes family in teaching as appropriate.
• Establishes a plan of care appropriate to identified problems, involving the patient according to their capabilities and desires. Documents goals, anticipated progress, and reevaluation plans.

Requirements

• Bachelor's, Master's, or Doctorate in Physical Therapy.
• Current State Physical Therapy License.
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 90 days of hire or transfer.
• Able to maintain high awareness of patient satisfaction and teamwork.
• Attention to detail and adaptability to perform well under pressure in a stressful environment.
• Flexible availability to work as needed for departmental coverage.
• Basic computer knowledge; proficiency in Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems.
• Critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Proficient time management skills.
• Sufficient proficiency in speaking, reading, and writing English to perform essential job functions safely.
• Additional languages preferred.
• Demonstrates knowledge of physical therapy modalities.
