About the Role
The Physical Therapist provides direct rehabilitation care in physical therapy to patients upon physician referral, adhering to all applicable laws, regulations, and Life Care standards.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited program in physical therapy (BSPT, MSPT, or DPT; 2003 or later must have MSPT or DPT)
- Currently registered/licensed in the applicable State; must maintain an active license in good standing throughout employment
- One (1) year of experience preferred; new graduates welcome to apply
- CPR certification upon hire or obtained during orientation; must remain current during employment
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and email
- Must demonstrate good body mechanics at all times
- Ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action
- Knowledge of practices, procedures, laws, regulations, and guidelines governing post-acute care facilities
- Strong interpersonal skills to liaise with patients, families, and support departments
- Read, write, speak, and understand English
Responsibilities
- Follow physical therapy treatment plans for patients
- Establish, assess, and modify realistic, measurable, timely, and functional goals
- Oversee and evaluate care given by PTAs, Rehab Aides, and PT/PTA students
- Chart appropriately and timely
- Utilize therapy software accurately
- Exhibit excellent customer service and maintain a positive attitude toward patients
- Assist in the evacuation of patients
- Demonstrate dependable, regular attendance
- Concentrate, use reasoning skills, and exercise good judgment
- Communicate and function productively on an interdisciplinary team
- Participate in community health matters/projects as appropriate
- Implement and interpret departmental programs, goals, objectives, policies, and procedures
- Perform proficiently in competency areas including patient rights, safety, and sanitation
- Maintain professional working relationships with associates, vendors, etc.
- Maintain confidentiality of proprietary and/or confidential information
- Adhere to Life Care’s Code of Conduct and complete mandatory compliance training
- Sit, stand, bend, lift, push, pull, stoop, walk, reach, and move intermittently during working hours
