Responsibilities
- Provide ethical, cost-effective management, delivery, documentation, and outcomes of professional physical therapy services in accordance with an established plan of care and all applicable licensure/certification requirements, physical therapy practice acts, and federal, state, and agency policies and procedures.
- Demonstrate population-specific competencies and adhere to National Patient Safety Goals as appropriate based on level of patient contact.
- Interpret referrals; examine, evaluate, develop, and modify the physical therapy plan of care, including anticipated goals and expected outcomes.
- Perform a comprehensive physical, psychosocial, and safety assessment of assigned patients, evidenced by clinical documentation.
- Coordinate patient care with other clinical team members, ensuring optimal patient care and communication as noted in the clinical record.
- Direct Physical Therapy Assistants to perform specific components of treatment and interventions while remaining responsible for the episode of patient care.
- Rehab Only: Provide and modify skilled interventions through therapeutic procedures and techniques to produce changes in condition consistent with the diagnosis and prognosis.
- Initiate promptly the appropriate corrective action(s) when an abnormal condition or response is noted.
- Write concise, legible, and accurate reports in a timely manner.
- Understand the developmental life span of the patient; assess, interpret, and provide care/service in a safe environment according to age-specific and cultural needs; document via test, direct observation, and demonstration.
- Report to the assigned Manager or Director.
- Meet any additional or varied physical demand and/or respiratory fit test requirements. Color acuity is required for Wound Care departments.
- Follow standard precautions; potential exposure to infections and communicable diseases, blood and body fluids, electrical equipment, and chemicals.
Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited school of Physical Therapy.
- Current Oklahoma Physical Therapy license OR eligibility for licensure in Oklahoma with ability to practice under the Oklahoma Physical Therapy Practice Act. Must complete licensure within 6 months after the initial temporary license is issued (must present letter/permit proving eligibility upon hire).
- Current BLS or CPR certification upon hire or completion within 30 days of hire.
- Ability to communicate effectively in English (verbal/written).
- Previous relevant work experience preferred.
