Physical Therapist / PRN / Outpatient

PRN rate $60.50 hourly plus shift differential. Outpatient experience preferred. About the role

Provides comprehensive evaluations, treatments, and education to patients and families consistent with individualized needs within an interdisciplinary environment. Maintains inventory of supplies, ensures proper use and maintenance of equipment, and keeps a clean work area. Communicates regularly with the patient care team, patients, family members, and others involved in patient care.

Responsibilities

• Assesses patients and identifies problems.
• Instructs and trains patients and families on pertinent aspects of care.
• Plans, develops, and implements result-oriented treatment plans with clear, measurable goals responsive to individualized patient needs.
• Modifies treatment plans according to patient responses.
• Plans treatment schedules to optimize staff and equipment use for high-quality patient services.
• Provides direct patient care and performs specialized treatments according to individualized plans.
• Follows established protocols to document specifics related to the patient program/setting.
• Accurately records daily charges for services rendered.
• Adheres to organizational and universal standards for sterile technique and infection control, including cleaning and sterilization of work surfaces, equipment, and instruments.
• Performs other related duties as required.

Requirements

• Graduation from a Physical Therapy school accredited by the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA).
• Licensure as a Physical Therapist in the state of Georgia.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification in accordance with the American Heart Association.

Physical Requirements

• Medium-Heavy work: 36-75 lbs occasionally (0-33% of the workday), 20-35 lbs frequently (34-66% of the workday), 10-20 lbs constantly (67-100% of the workday).
• Lifting up to 75 lbs maximum.
• Carrying objects up to 35 lbs.
• Occasional to frequent standing and walking; occasional sitting.
• Close eye work (computers, typing, reading, writing).
• Physical demands may vary depending on assigned work area and tasks.

Environmental Factors

• Exposure to blood-borne pathogens, bio-hazardous waste, chemicals/gases/fumes/vapors, and communicable diseases.
• Risk of electrical shock, patient care/handling injuries, and radiation.
• Varied floor surfaces and exposure to hot/cold temperatures.
• Indoor/outdoor conditions, latex, and lighting variations.
• Shift work and potential travel requirements.
• Use of personal protective equipment, including respirators.
• Environmental conditions may vary depending on assigned work area and tasks.
