Sierra Tucson, a world-renowned residential treatment center, is seeking a PRN Physical Therapist to work at our beautiful campus in Tucson, AZ.

About the Role

Treat injured or ill patients to improve movement and manage pain by providing services of rehabilitation, treatment, and prevention.

Responsibilities

  • Assess, plan, organize, and participate in rehabilitative programs that improve mobility, relieve pain, increase strength, and correct disabling conditions resulting from disease or injury.
  • Diagnose patient functions and movements by observing them stand or walk and by listening to their concerns, among other methods, and develop individualized plans of care for patients, outlining goals and expected outcomes.
  • Use exercises, stretching maneuvers, hands-on therapy, and equipment to ease patient pain, help increase mobility, prevent further pain or injury, and facilitate health and wellness.
  • Evaluate and record patient progress, modifying plans of care and trying new treatments as needed.
  • Educate patients and their families about what to expect from the recovery process and how best to cope with challenges throughout the process.
  • Provide quality, personalized interventions and motivate patients during treatment to help them function optimally.
  • Complete discharge planning, including designing home follow-up programs when appropriate.
  • May conduct individualized or group therapy sessions, such as Hydrotherapy or Therapeutic Movement Group sessions.
  • Demonstrate a positive, empathetic, and professional attitude toward customers at all times. When patient needs are not met, acknowledge and work to resolve complaints. Recognize that patient safety is a top priority.
  • Perform other functions and tasks as assigned.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Physical Therapy or Doctor of Physical Therapy from an accredited college or university, as required by state and acceptable for licensure.
  • One or more years’ experience working with the population of the facility preferred.
  • Current active professional license, or eligible for endorsement by the state in which the facility provides services.
  • CPR and de-escalation/restraint certification required (training available upon hire and offered by facility).
  • First aid may be required based on state or facility.
