About the role
Select Specialty Hospital - Memphis is a critical illness recovery hospital dedicated to providing world-class inpatient post-ICU services to chronically ill patients. Physical Therapists (PT) are integral in offering compassionate, high-quality care throughout the recovery process.
Responsibilities
- Performing initial and ongoing systematic patient assessments.
- Promoting continuous quality improvement.
- Teaching and counseling patients and families.
- Setting goals and developing treatment plans.
- Working cooperatively to identify and solve patient-specific and facility-wide needs.
- Participating in discharge planning, including patient/family education and adaptive equipment placement.
- Supervising Physical Therapy Assistants and PT/PTA students.
- Conducting individual patient therapy regimens.
- Maintaining patient records and monitoring responses to treatment.
- Participating in departmental, hospital, and community continuing education activities.
Requirements
- Current state licensure as a Physical Therapist.
- Certified BLS or completion within the first 90 days of employment.
Qualifications
- Experience in acute care settings preferred.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Skills
- Excellent clinical judgment and problem-solving skills.
- Effective communication and teaching abilities.
- Proficiency in using medical software and documentation systems.
