About the Role

A Physical Therapist evaluates and treats residents in a skilled nursing facility to improve mobility, strength, and independence. The role involves collaborating with healthcare teams, residents, and families to deliver personalized care.

Responsibilities

  • Develop individualized treatment plans for residents
  • Supervise Physical Therapy Assistants
  • Conduct in-services and educate residents and caregivers on safety and home exercises
  • Maintain accurate documentation and ensure a safe treatment environment
  • Oversee PT aides and students
  • Interpret policies and technical procedures

Requirements

  • Degree in Physical Therapy
  • Valid licensure in the state
  • Proficiency in computer systems and documentation
  • Strong communication, problem-solving, and teamwork skills
  • Physical capability to perform resident handling and equipment operation
