Responsibilities

  • Provides physical therapy services in accordance with physician’s written orders.
  • Interacts daily with patients, family members, and agency personnel.
  • Directly accountable to the McLeod Home Health Administrator.
  • Functions within agency and unit policies and procedures.
  • Manages own time productively and independently.
  • Complies with attendance and reporting requirements.
  • Works closely with other staff, students, and external agencies.
  • Contributes to the overall performance of the department through professional development strategies.
  • Functions as clinical education coordinator for students and volunteers.
  • Assists with performance improvement.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of state therapy laws, Conditions of Participation, and relevant regulatory issues.
  • Knowledgeable about conflict resolution techniques and customer relations.
  • Understands agency services and referral systems.
  • Knowledgeable about community resources.
  • Demonstrates expertise in communication and interpersonal relationships.
  • Possesses excellent writing skills.
  • Uses computer.
  • Possesses excellent organizational skills.
  • Highly adaptable and exercises high degree of initiative and judgment.
  • Handles potential safety issues for staff and patients.
  • Matures, acts responsibly, is ethical, self-initiating, and demonstrates professional behavior.
  • Effective interpersonal skills, empathy, and ability to listen and plan with staff, patients, customers, and physicians.
  • Able to communicate with a diverse population.
  • Self-awareness and self-evaluation, accurate data collection, record completion, and follow-up.
  • Familiar with principles of growth and development over the life span and ability to assess data reflective of patient status.

Qualifications

  • Zero to one year of related work experience.
  • Active South Carolina license in Physical Therapy.
  • Current Basic Life Support certification - American Heart Association.
