Physical Therapist PRN Acute Care

About the Role

The physical therapist assesses, plans, and participates in rehabilitative programs to improve mobility, reduce pain, increase strength, and prevent deformity in patients with disease or injury.

Responsibilities

• Implements treatment plans, selects appropriate activities, and revises goals with patient/family input.
• Provides education, discharge instructions, follow-up, and referrals.
• Collaborates with physicians for ongoing evaluation and develops realistic discharge plans.
• Documents evaluations, treatment sessions, and education per departmental guidelines.
• Acts as a resource for staff, families, and physicians regarding rehabilitation services.
• Ensures ethical practice, maintains confidentiality, and adheres to infection control protocols.
• Promotes excellent customer service using AIDET principles, fosters teamwork, and participates in professional development and mandatory training.
• Performs additional duties as assigned while complying with policies and standards.

Requirements

• Holds a Doctorate, Masters, or Bachelors in Physical Therapy.
• Current PT licensure and BLS certification.
• Effective communication and customer service focus.
• Team orientation and basic computer skills.
