Responsibilities
- Accurately accesses and documents staffing, patient care activities and hospital processes.
- Provides therapy care to patients, assessing their physical, psycho-social, spiritual, cultural, functional, high risk, and discharge needs.
- Establishes long and short-term goals and reports weekly progress in interdisciplinary staffing and outcome measures.
- Demonstrates ability to comply with infection control policies and procedures.
- Identifies and documents patient/family educational needs and provides teaching based on identified needs.
- Oversees patient care on basis of patient classification and staff expertise to ensure quality of care.
- Communicates effectively with associates, physicians, and allied health team, coordinating therapy care with other disciplines.
- Ensures rights of the patient/family are respected and maintained.
- Completes unit-specific annual competency checklist and assures equipment is in operating order.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree required, doctorate degree preferred.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Pediatric experience preferred.
- Current Louisiana PT License required.
- Current BLS Card required.
Qualifications
Full-time associates must attend 50% of departmental in-services and meet with the manager for information missed in other meetings as documented on the sign-in sheet. Relief associates may read the minutes of meetings.
